Princess Kate - PM David Cameron Sings Praise for Princess Kate's Wedding

Congratulations for a wedding engagement don’t come any finer that those from Prime Minister David Cameron upon hearing of the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Speaking in direct response to the Royal engagement, which was announced back in November 2010, Mr Cameron sang his praises for the couple to the American news channel CNN. During the interview he declared the big day as a “great moment for Britain” and that Prince William and fiancé Kate make “a wonderful couple”.

The PM has publicly spoken of his confidence in Prince William as heir to the throne, and has been quoted saying: “He is a remarkable young man”.

This is to be the first Royal wedding that Mr Cameron will observe in his position as Prime Minister. The last full scale Royal wedding was that of HRH The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, The Duchess of Cornwall on 9 April 2005 at Windsor Castle.

Mr Cameron is believed to have become acquainted with Prince William in Zurich when both were supporting England’s bid to host the World Cup in 2018. The bid was unsuccessful for England and Russia prevailed as the appointed host for the event. During the campaign in Zurich, Mr Cameron said he “spent time with” Prince William, although he was unclear on whether he had given the Prince any advice for married life. The pair are both former students at Eton College, Berkshire.

It is believed that the Prime Minister is in regular discussion with Her Majesty The Queen with regards to the Royal Wedding which will take place in 29 April 2011. Matters relating to the budget and security will be at the forefront of the agenda but exact content of the meetings cannot be publicly revealed. Mr Cameron said: “They are absolutely secret so I would have to kill you if I told you anything that was discussed." Is our Prime Minister be leading a double life as an international spy as well as running our country? A James Bond in the making? Perhaps not.
