Kate’s Middleton’s status as a Royal fashion icon is ever growing but the the real question is what will the wedding dress look like and who will it be made by? Whilst speculation is rife, it is believed that Victoria Beckham is in line for the commission of the Royal wedding dress.
Kate is known for favouring British designers so if it is Mrs Beckham who designs the Royal wedding dress it will certainly be in keeping with this theme. Victoria Beckham’s self titled fashion label has gained much acclaim, since its emergence in 2008, amongst the fashion circles of the rich and famous, proving a particular hit at New York fashion week. The Victoria Beckham label is owned by Victoria and her former Spice Girls manager, Simon Fuller, who she recruited to help her expand the business.
Kate’s people are said to have made inquiries into Victoria’s recent collections, announcing a specific request for some of the designers dresses to be sent to Kate. When speaking of Kate at said fashion week, Victoria told how: “Apparently she likes my clothes and has asked to see a selection.” Victoria added that: “It’s tremendously exciting and I would be honoured if she were to wear my designs. I admire her tremendously. She’s a beautiful young girl, and she wears clothes beautifully.” With a design commissioned for the Royal wedding, this could be the very seal of approval that places Victoria Beckham at the top of fashion world – a dress fit for a Princess made by Posh.
